Why AirPlay 1 for Audio?
AirRoom TV implements the AirPlay 1 protocol stack. This protocol design delegates FairPlay DRM decryption to the iOS or macOS sender device, transmitting decrypted, pristine CD-quality audio (ALAC) directly to the receiver. AirPlay 2 software receivers lack Apple's official hardware FairPlay decryption keys, blocking native Apple Music playback and forcing fallback to system-wide mirroring.
Lossless Sound Quality
All audio streaming signals are handled via Apple Lossless Audio Codec (ALAC) or raw PCM at 16-bit / 44.1 kHz. This guarantees that your speakers receive bit-perfect representation of the source material, ensuring zero acoustic loss or compression degradation.
